10 Actors Who Should Pull A McConaughey

2. Will Ferrell

Will Ferrell. Some people love him, some people hate him. Whatever corner you are in, it is pretty hard to argue that this guy has not been playing essentially the same character for the last two decade.

Ricky Bobby, Ron Burgundy, Allen Gamble, Cam Brady…they are all the same characters. Come on, Will! Anyone that has followed you knows that you have some serious chops when you want to use them. Step away from the easy money and give a complete makeover a shot.

Some might argue, well Will is still making money. Sure, and so was McConaughey, yet he was making it in bland rom-com’s where he failed to distinguish himself as anything other than that sexy Southern drawler. Like Matty Ice, Will needs a change.

Agreeably, no one plays a better arrogant imbecile than Will Ferrell. But that does not mean it is all the guy can do. His flame is starting to burn out a little bit, as audiences are starting to tire of the same character over and over again. Now would be the perfect time to show them who he truly is an actor, and what he can do outside of the immature idiots he has played for the better part of his career.

Yes, he can do it. He has handled a few stabs at drama (Stranger Than Fiction, Everything Must Go) and he is more than capable. If he could somehow take a chance on himself, he could easily walk himself into the sacred gates of McConaughey Land.

You never know, Will. If you took a chance, you might actually become more than just kind of a big deal.
