There was a time when Rachel McAdams looked to inherit Meg Ryan’s crown of reigning actress in romantic comedies. When she seemed to take an oddly-timed sabbatical after 2005, that option seemed to have passed and McAdams essentially disappeared for a few years.

Unfortunately, her agents seem to think that is where she firmly belongs as, outside of a random film here and there, McAdams has done little but romantically themed films since her return. Stop it!

McAdams is a vastly talented actress, as shown in films like State of Play and Red Eye, so why does she insist on sticking to the one type of film she is qualified for…but so much better than? We, the audience, get it: You are adorable and most guys would love to date a woman like you. Yet, you also possess the talents to multi-task and become the modern day Julia Roberts.
