Weekend Box Office Oct 26-28

Argo took 1st place with $12m for a total of $60m in its 3rd weekend.  Even though it was a relatively flop-fillend weekend at theaters, Argo continues to hold up as the word of mouth has been fantastic.  Cloud Atlas on the other hand, mediocre reviews and a poor C+ rating from CinemaScore ensure this will be a cult film since its opening of $9.6m was pretty weak.  You can tell that story 6 different ways, it still ends in a flop.

Hotel Transylvania held strong AGAIN with a monstrous (see what I did there?) hold at $9.4m and a $130m total thus far, making it Sony Animation’s biggest hit yet.  Paranormal Activity 4 dropped 70% to $8.5m for a $42.4 total after 10 days.  To put that into perspective…PA3 made $52m its first 3 DAYS.  Someone call Bill Murray, these ghosts are done.

Other openings, Silent Hill Revelation showed it had no business being made with an extremely weak $8m, Fun Size wasn’t any with $4.1m and Chasing Mavericks was chasing its tail with $2.2m.

Apparently, this weekend people were out doing stuff.  OR they decided to listen to HO Ep 65 to prepare for Nov 2nd releases:

And of course take a listen to our Paranormal Activity Spoilercast just up:
