Weekend Box Office 11/30 – 12/2

The weekend after Thanksgiving weekend rarely offers up any surprises…and this was no exception.  Not even the mighty Brad Pitt could make a dent in the Box Office and people essentially saw the same few movies they saw on Overindulgence Weekend.

Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 took #1 for the 3rd week in a row with $17.4 million for a $254m total.  Worldwide though, the film has already eclipsed (get it?) $700m to become the highest grossing Twilight yet.  Rich ass vampires.

Skyfall held on strong w/ $16.5m for a $245m total and is already at $800m worldwide with the potential to cross $1 Billion! Oh yea, and it’s also the biggest Bond movie, Spy movie, Daniel Craig movie, Judi Dench movie and all kinds of other stuff.  It’s frickin’ huge.

Rise of the Guardians held on strong w/ $13.3m for a $48.8m total.  Unfortunately it opened too weak and this flick will  just continue to fall.  Yep, I punned again.  Lincoln is surprising everyone and becoming a huge box office hit w/ another $13.3m for $83.5m total.  The film is only a week or 2 away from $100m, quite the feat for a biopic.

Brad ‘I Mint Money’ Pitt had a rare flop with Killing Me Softly only bringing in $6.8m.  OUCH!  Do Ocean’s 14 STAT!  And The Collection, a violent horror flick semi-sequel sliced up only $3.1m.  Nothing exciting for this weekend, maybe next weekend will bring a few more benjamins.
