5 Horror Movies To Catch After Halloween

Every year around Halloween, a few horror films always hit the multiplex hoping to suck a few more dollars from our festive fears. What usually gets forgotten are the numerous other horror films that come out the remainder of the year. Those films that are unfortunately released long after All Hallow’s Eve and get sandwhiched into holiday release dates.  Don’t they deserve a mention too?

We believe they do. So here are 5 horror films coming out over the course of the next few months, films that grabbed our attention and hopefully will stay on your radar when they finally play at a theater near you. Throw them in your calendar because horror is a genre that plays at any time of year.

Without further ado, here are 5 Horror films to watch for long after Halloween has passed…

The Babadook

6 years after her husband dies in a tragic car accident, Amelia (Essie Davis) is left alone to care for their troubled son, Samuel (Noah Wiseman). At first, Samuel seems just to be a boy with a troubled soul, obsessed with a horrific pop-up book revolving around a creature known only as ‘The Babadook‘. After a few strange occurrences, Amelia begins to believe the story and so begins her own battle with the monsterous Babadook.

As we recently discussed on Ep 163, The Babadook is an old-fashioned horror film offered up by Jennifer Kent, a director who understands how to create a terrifying atmosphere with more than ominous dialogue or cheap BOO scares. The sound design elevates the film and tingles the spine, while the astounding performances from the two leads in Davis and Wiseman make this one of those rare horror gems that every horror fan should seek out at the first possible moment.

Thankfully, that moment will arrive in theaters and VOD on November 28th
